Health and Safety

ECO2 is fully committed to respecting the highest standards of health and safety protocols. Furthermore, ECO2 has developed and implemented an innovative series of comprehensive dust management and control strategies to provide an even higher level of security for workers and the community.

​For example, air samples will be collected daily to ensure its quality and compliance with standards outside and inside the plant.

The residues will remain moist by continuous hydration of the soil, which limits dispersion from the outset. 
In addition to wearing masks, operators will work from sealed cabins with continuous air filtration.
The wet residues will be loaded into covered and sealed trucks which will never leave the industrial site.
  • ​​Workers' equipment and cabins will be sealed with an internal air filtration system.  No hazardous acids, agents or chemicals are used in the process. This eliminates any potential exposure to these products for workers.
  • The material will be transported to the entrance of the factory with meticulously covered conveyors.  The distance between the site and the factory is very short.
  • Upon arrival at the plant, the tailings are kept moist until their extreme heat treatment. Until then, the moisture eliminates potential air emissions.
  • Once the tailings are heat treated, the extreme temperature changes the nature of the product and completely destroys any residual chrysotile fibers.
